What is an Art Museum? Latin America cluster.  Please answer the following questions about your museum as a comment to this post.  Do not forget to interact with each other.  Due Monday, May 21.  Have fun exploring!

1.       your name and the name of the Museum you explored.
2.       Museum actual location.
3.       Date museum opened to public.
4.       Museum mission (or purpose.  You may find this in the home page, or you may have to look further).
5.       List 5 of the museum’s collections and 2 of it’s special exhibits.
6.       List 5 of the museum’s significant pieces.
After “wandering through” the museum:
7.       Analyze, with a specific example for each: the strengths and weaknesses of this museum’s site function.

9.       Consider the location of the museum, and history of the country in which it is located: how do the collections reflect this history?  Give a specific example.

Week 2 update

Hi Art Critics,
You are working on your exploration of things Greek- how Doric of you.  I look forward to seeing your first Looking to Learn assignments regarding Classical or Medieval art.  The assignment is due Friday (April 20) and the following students have signed up to share their analyses with class:  Molly, Alex, Amber, Maria, Nick.
